Some great campsites on Agnes
East shore-any of the ones around the long portage into Boulder river. I especially like the one directly south of the portage-many others like the one to the west near the island-peninsula are also good.
Fishing-try at the bottom of the rapids at the last portage going into Agnes. Also at the base of the rapids on Boulder river/Boulder Bay
On LLC take the island campsite in Tiger Bay or the one furthest west. Good fishing in Tiger Bay or along Fish Stake Narrows.
Go into Oyster if you want to try for Lakers. Take the campsite on the east shore of the peninsula that looks like an island-west side of the lake.
Climb "Top of the World" east shore of Moose River about 2/3 of the way to Nina Moose. Nice large rock to climb and see the Moose River area all the way to Nina Moose.
Be careful coming back out Nina Moose to not get into Portage River. Both Moose and Portage Rivers come in near each other. There is a large dead pine tree at the west shore of the Moose river where it enters Nina Moose. Look for the tall tree on your way out and follow it into the river channel. You will soon recognize you are on the right path as you see familiar scenery from your entry. Late in the season the vegetation amsks the river channels, follow the tree-it knows where the channel is-has never steered me wrong yet!
E-mail me for more info WW. You have a great chance to see a Moose in here. If teh weather cooperates get up to LLC to see the pictos and Warrior Hill. Have a great time in one of my favorite entries and areas.

WW, are you staying in that general area? If you are heading east towards Crooked, be warned that on Saturday Bay I had a customer report a bear in camp. Pesky, didn't want to leave and was not afraid at all.

Lynn-we stayed on Saturday Bay when we were in with the church group in July. Which campsite was it the bear was hanging around at-the one with the long sand beach just south of the island that faces west?
I saw lots of bear signs on the portage out of Friday Bay into Chippewa and had heard from the rangers we met they had seen one in that area. Maybe the same one, but seems a bit far for it to roam.

WW... any idea of your intended route? Might help us zero in on specific areas to tell you about.
One of these days -- hopefully before your trip -- I should be posting my TR from Jim-WI's and my Moose River expedition. Hopefully, that will help answer some of your questions. Perhaps generate new ones too.

Yea details,
My uncle & I usually do a long hard loop, covering alot of lakes & traveling everyday. This trip we would like to do something we haven't had much time for in the last couple of years.....FISH (I am not the greatest fisherman, so I need some help)
I was thinking of heading up to Boulder or Tiger Bay the 1st day & basecamp for 2 days from there. What is the best campsites & fishing spots around there. We might still see some sights, ya know the pictographs, Warrior Hill, Rebecca Falls & Curtain Falls, but want to concentrate on catching some fish.....or should I say trying ;D
Plan would be:- Day one in to Lac La Croix
- Basecamp Day Two & Three
- Head back out Day 4
Any details on that area would be great.
Thanks [shadow=gray,left,500]Woods Walker[/shadow]

OK
I just posted my trip report over on the CCBB so, you might want to check that out.
I can't help you with the fishing, of course.
I can tell you that it took Jim and I about 7 hours to exit from Tiger Bay to the Entry Point. We were both in solo canoes and double portaging.
There's a very nice island campsite north of Tiger Bay. If you look at your map, you'll see two islands with 2 campsites each. The eastern most island is kind of shaped like a flying bird. The other, smaller island is where we camped... on the southern most site.
The campsite is up on a cliff -- about 15-20 ft off the water. Each side slopes down to a sandy beach though. So, you get good views as well as good landing/swimming areas. Mostly pine trees there and fairly open site. There was more than enough room for Jim and I... many more people could have camped there.
Jim did do a little fishing from shore and caught a few small smallies.
Read my report and, if you have any questions, feel free to ask away!
