Yes I like them qp.....but.....I think we need to use them correctly.....main catagory is forum & then use the subs for related topics..... A good example would be to orginize BWCA trip reports by entry point, when we get more than one.
What do you others think?

I voted, but you asked for comments ;D
I really don't like the sub-boards. It means too many clicks to see something I'm interested in, and I'm sure it means that I don't look at things that would be cool if I did look at them (does that make any sense?). One way of expressing it is that the big campfire has split into a whole bunch of little bitty campfires. I think I miss a lot that way.

We have almost 1000 different topics & over 4000 posts on those topics. I would think, but I may be wrong, that it would be more difficult to find what you were looking for if we put everything on one forum. What we have been attempting to do is group the most logical & related topics under the same forum as a sub-board.
Thanks for the input, we are open to suggestions, is there a different way you could suggest, that would improve the flow of the board?
We were really hoping for more input from our members, we have 243 members & only 10 votes.
If you are reading this & have not placed a vote, please login & vote, this is your campsite, we want to make it as comfortable as we can for you.

I do like the sub boards. When they 1st came out (on any BB) I didn't like them, but as I've used them I've changed my mind. When I go to a BB, I usually just "hit" the sub-boards that are a subject I'm interested in.

However, I have no idea how to respond to the poll itself.
I also don't like logging in, and usually don't unless it's automatic. (I usually forget either my login name or password, it's just not worth it to remember.

I understand where your coming from. I like the 'one big campfire' thing as well. It is harder to look up stuff but it moves much faster. What I found it that it is possible to do this with this board If you go to the very bottom of the main page you can click on the "10 most resent" post button. Then you can see the most resent posts without going to the sub-board (it tells you what sub board it came from). I wonder if there is a way to change it from 10 post to 20? I will have to look into it. Does this make sense to you Canoepam?
