"Superior Seasons," by Shawn Perich
There is no question that Minnesota’s North Shore is one of the most captivating regions in our country, and author Shawn Perich is living a dream that most of us share. Columnist of Grand Marais’ Cook County Herald, Perich has made his home on the doorstep to our canoe country wilderness with the magnificent Lake Superior for his neighbor. Against the backdrop of changing seasons the author offers a series of essays to paint a colorful picture of the Minnesota northwoods. Accompanied by his faithful canine companions he shares his hunting and fishing experiences and introduces us to a cast of local characters to make us feel at home in his area of the woods.
Anyone who enjoys hunting and fishing in northern Minnesota or those who eagerly seek encounters with wilderness wildlife will enjoy this book. Published in 2004 it is readily available on the book market.

Thanks WM,
The North Shore is a favorite destination of mine, I discovered it 2 years ago & have taken 4 trips up there since. If you like rocky rivers water falls & big cedars you will love the North Shore.
I will have to pick this book up, sounds like a must read.
