I just want to say that it thrills me to find so many of my brothers and sisters that frequent several of these boards... on board when it comes to saying that Jesus Christ is the Leader on your Journey through life... Personally, I can say I have developed a very close friendship with a member on this board and he also belongs to a couplle others that helps me hold myself accountable as we share through the net, what Christ has done in our lives and is continuing to do to bless us... God Bless you all, I am glad to know I have more Brothers and Sisters that belive as I do!!!!!

Aside from the truth that the wilderness is a place of beauty where we may go to refresh our souls and connect with God, we cannot change the fact that we live on a sin cursed earth. The bible states, "the wages of sin is death" and "it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgement". Sin is universal, death is universal, so it stands that we all are sinners. God, in his great mercy, has made a provision for our salvation in the sacrificial death of his son Jesus Christ. This does not change the fact that we will die, but is crucial to our position in the judgement, since sin has condemed us. Our individual decision to have faith in this teaching and accept it as absolute truth is necessary for our salvation. The bible also states, "For ye are saved by grace through faith" and that "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God". The purpose of the church is to teach the Word of God so that we may "hear" it. The Word of God confronts the sinner with his sin. It is a tough business and a tougher sell. People do not want to be confronted with their sin. The wilderness does neither confront our sin nor provide us some alternate means of salvation. It is a valuable place where we can"re-focus" as has been said. Whereas, fellowship in a church is necessary to nurture our faith and strengthen our belief in the face of the adversary. The accountability Bruce speaks of is a grace of God, a caring of one for another, enough so, to be willing to "point out the spec in a brothers eye".

Since it is true that we are all sinners and that we are all going to die, why stress out over who, what and why you go to church? I remain a Pantheist and look to the wilderness and other natural things to affirm my belief in a higher power. A man-made church and religion is an attempt to affirm man's wonderfullness and belonging with "God" when in actuallity we are just "fancy" animals.

A man-made church and religion is an attempt to affirm man's wonderfullness and belonging with "God" when in actuallity we are just "fancy" animals. Don`t include me in that WE, it takes far more faith to believe in evolution than it does the word of God. Every prophecy in the Bible that points to the return of the Lord for His church (rapture) has taken place. Everything was created by God, one God, the one that gave His only begotten Son Jesus that died on the cross for our sins. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is what separates the one true God from the rest of the cults, plain and simple. There is only one way to be saved or even understand what the Bible says and go to Heaven and thats by committing and accepting what Jesus did on the cross. Believing in God is not enough, Satan knows God and guess where he`s going. Here`s a great study site that i really trust. www.havefaith.org/

Hey, This is all well said, but lets not get to heated up. Faith takes work and long nights around the fire. does it not? Who of you have not questioned your beliefs? So I have went the Christian path as it is popular in the U.S.A. How can one be more honest than that. I doubt God will not forgive me my imperfections as I never claimed to be, just that. Perfect. God is.. as Lennon said, a concept. But concepts do exist. A perfect concept. A perfect truth. At times it is a struggle to know this, but that's just how it is. I'm enjoying this church of mine. It is neat to be around folk attempting to connect. Once again, I'm in to deep for my own good. Just me.

All I can say K is ...WOW, you have truley not joined your chistian church until you accept Jesus Christ as your savior.
Faith doen't take long nights by he fire, just trust in the Lord Jesus Christ & what he did for us on the cross.
K, God forgives ALL sins..... if you beieve & try to practice the word of the lord, only one of us was perfect & he died for you & I.
If Lennon just thought of God as a "Concept" & did not believe then he is keeping the devil company these days.
You also siad it is neat to be around people trying to connect.... The only way you are going to connect to anybody in your church is to connect with the lord 1st. A church is a place that people meet to share thier belief's in the word of god, to connect with Jesus & then one another.
I will pray for you Brian, that you will see the light & come to realize the true reasons for attending church.
Do not get me wrong, I am really happy you are attending church. If you hear enough or the gospel you will become a believer.[/color]

Just one more quick comment, too many people today are into social or feel good religion and water down the word of God. There is so much scripture being twisted around in order to make Gods word fit the times. God and His word are never changing, the same yesterday today and forever. Forgive me if i came across as being upset at anyone i am not, my heart just hurts when i see people reject God. IMO there is nothing and i mean nothing in this world right now thats more important than asking Jesus Christ into your life. It is so easy to commit to Jesus and know if you died today you would spend eternity in heaven. A prayer something like this could mean the difference between spending eternity in Heaven or Hell.
God I realize that sin is born in us from Adam and EVE, You knew there was no hope of salvation for us. You yourself had to come to earth and become flesh so you sent your Holy Spirit into Mary and born a son who was named Jesus. Your Son would experience sin and lay down His life in order to pay the sin price for us. Jesus shed His blood for our sin and made it possible for us to be washed clean of our sin and made presentable to God. Thank you Jesus for what you did for us, i believe with all my heart that you died on the cross and that you rose from the dead and are sitting at the right hand of the father now. Praise your Holy name Jesus, today i am a new creature in Christ, i repent of my sin and my life will be new as i live to serve You. Amen.
Pray a prayer like this and mean it in your heart, think about Jesus continually, pray continually for the Devil will try to discourage you at first. Satin doesn`t care what you have here on earth, He will give you anything you want, it`s your soul that He is after. The first thing you will notice after accepting Christ is your thirst for the word, the Holy Spirit in you will give you the knowledge to understand the word. God Bless and don`t knock it till ya try it.
