That dusty lens is exactly why I didn't take any photos of my strip ripping, bead & cove process.
I will try to post some photos later tonight.

Here is the setup I used for putting the bead & cove in the strips. I built a long bench that holds both my router tabel & my chop saw on opposite ends. The chop saw can be removed & placed below allowing for an even longer bench surface. In the picture it is stored below. This was perfect for routing my 18 foot strips.
Here is what the bead & cove looked like.
Here are 72, beaded & coved, color matched 18 foot strips.

Are you nailing the strips? I made mine that way, but I'd like to try nail-less next time. If you are nailing, are you punching them through to the forms, or pulling them out? See www.myrabo.com/k-canoe/wlii.htm for the progress on mine. I still have to complete it (needs gunwales, seat, flotation and trimming). Maybe in a couple of months. Lookin' good - I'm jealous!

Wow you have been busy! Looks great. Those full length strips with the bead and cove must go on quick. I have had to spend about a half hour just planing and fitting up a strip and getting the joints right using short strips. It looks like you are laying all the strips curved along the sheer line? Are you going to straighten them out when you get to the 6" waterline or keep the curve going?

I am using 9/16" staples & will pull them when hull is complete. I considered going stapleless but this is my 1st canoe & I have a learning curve to go through.Woods Walker[/color]

I was so excited to finally be applying strips, that I am already past the point I was supposed to straighten the strips.....so I am just going to go with it. I guess that is the disadvantage to full length strips.... they do go on fast & hence I forgot something. I have seen plenty of other boats this way so It should be fine.
I have Friday off work, so I will have the day to work on it. I am pretty happy about it right now.
