Yes the Kelty Gunnison does have low screens. But from taking to several different people and after using it myself I don't think this will be a problem unless the tent isn't tight. I did find that REI makes a very similar tent to the Gunnison but without the low screens and more costly then buying the Gunnison from Campmor. I looked into 5-6 person tents (if you want to go bigger) and the lightest tent is the Kelty Trail Dome 6 Tent. The things I don't like about the tent is that It doesn't have a vestibule and it doesn't have total rain fly coverage. But like I said it is one of the lightest tents out there for 6 people.

We also had a thread before on larger tents.

I have the Northface Bedrock which I mention in the post above. I also have bought a Cabela's outfitter 6 man for car camping, now that thing is huge.
BTW... mine has been in several downpoars & 3 days on straight rain & it never leaked a drop. rainfly goes all the way to the ground.

Troy - some time ago I saw your tent in that thread but when I went to Campmor's website they didn't seem to have it. Has it been replaced by another model?
They had the Northface Rock or something not quite the same as yours. I looked through 4 and 6 person tents as well as aluminum & fiberglass poles.
Three models I'm looking at; Kelty Trail Dome Series the Gunnison and this Northface Bedrock (if I can find it)

Here is a link to the REI Half Dome 4 HC Tent. This is the tent similar to the Gunnison but without the low screen. I haven't tried it and it does cost more than Gunnison (compared to buying it at campmor) but thought you would like to see it. www.rei.com/product/47975664.htm
