Here's a book full of fun stories, some new, some old, by women who love canoeing...Rivers Running Free, by Judith Niemi and Barbara Wieser. IC

Huh, I might have to put that on my list, IC, as I have tons of wilderness books, but not that one. A friend a few years back gave me the book called "Woman of the Boundary Waters" Canoing, Guiding, Mushing, and Surviving, By Justine Kerfoot. I enjoyed it thouroghly. It also has an awsome glossary defining things from A-Shaped Tents to Wood Borers. (Great for Trivia tips...shhhhh!) k

Here's another one K, Women of the Four Winds. I cannot remember the author. It has several stories about adventures or lives of intrepid women in the mid 1800's to early 1900's. One I liked the best was the wife of a naturalist, he was hired by the New York Museum of Natural History to collect specimens, she spent her spare time getting him out of fixes...like the time a bull elephant drilled him into the ground and left him for dead. In the long run he divorced her and he took all the adventure credit! It is another excellent read. IC

Wow...Intrepid, I had no idea so many books were written by lady folk pertaining to the North, canoeing, and stuff untill you brought it up as the vast majority that I have on my bookshelf are written by men.
Here's one I found in the bookshelves at work last week.
"A Place in the Woods" By Helen Hoover
I'm curious if anyone has ever had the pleasure of visiting Chapman Street Books. A treasure if you are looking for collectables and new books too.
