We are going to offer one of our Willets canoes for sale. Thought I would start with this group of friends first...to let you know about it. I will spend some time adding historical information for anyone who might be interested, on the Willets Brothers of Washington State. This canoe has been my dad's for 60 years, and has been on many canoe trips, wild ricing, duck hunting. The last time was 2003, along the Basswood River and through Crooked Lake. The two young men who got to use it were the hit of every portage, and had to answer many questions about the makers, etc. They liked all the attention this beautiful canoe brought their way. I have photos, which I will post, somewhere, somehow, when I get that figured out. Canoe is double hulled cedar strip throughout, smooth inside bottom, about 17 feet, dark natural wood mahagony color, very good but used condition, weighs 76 pounds and will carry 600-700 pounds easily. If any one is interested please IM me.

History pertaining to canoes? You bet Intrepid! I'm interested... I'm sure many of us are. I'm not sure what the rules around here are myself half the time so maybe you would like to start your history thread again in the General forum and leave this particular post where it is. Perhaps that would be the way to go. I'm looking forward to your history report. I'm all ears. k

Hey Intrepid,
I'd be interested in hearing more about your canoe, basic condition, does it need any work, etc, what you are thinking of for cost?
Either post it or send me an e-mail off-line.
Dan L
(ps, I collect/restore old canoes)
