Has anyone read this? It is quite a book, about a dad and sons/son who paddled down the Mississippi to the Gulf, down the coast to a big river in South America which goes to the Amazon. Do we have a Must Read Book list somewhere on the site?

Hmmmn... Perhaps a personal library area with coments and ratings on each.
Thanks for the tip on the above Book Intrepid. Last summer I picked up and copy of "Call of the Wild" Copy right 1903, new edition 1910. As a matter of fact it was after my first Quetico trip. After leaving the Quetico upon my exit from Ely in the ol little book store off to the side, many don't know about. That's where I found it. Love that place.

Yes,
Don Starkel is an interesting fellow. The book is a great read and well worth taking a look at. I know that it is available at several libraries in the Twin Cities. Give it a look. I think you will be glad you did.
