I have been asked to post my pictures of Beaver Cave again. We found a Cave on Beaver lake in August of 2003. We had heard of its existence but no on had any info on it. So here it is enjoy!!! ;D It took us many many hours to find but here is the entrance to Beaver cave. Here is my husband Dave looking into the cave. Here is me inside the cave. A little further back in the cave looking out again. Crawling back in the cave. Here is a picture of Flowstone. Flowstone is "A layered deposit of calcium carbonate on rock where water has flowed or dripped, as on the walls of a cave. " Here are some pictures further back in the cave. Here are some tiny stalactites. More Cave pics.

Red:
Say, you know there is a "cave" on Warrior Hill and one on the left on Nina Moose River after you leave Nina Moose Lake, - or maybe it is on Boulder River just north of Agnes - but, once again, I haven't seen either since the 60s or 70s. The one on the Nina Moose chain used to be a rock formation which was clearly visible from the water but since has grown over with underbrush and small trees.

On my September trip, I found a cave near our campsite on Winchell. I didn't go into it -- which, considering we later were visited by the one and only skunk I've seen in the BW, was probably the right decision -- so, I don't know how deep it went and what kind of formations it might have held.

Nibi what camp site was it at? Was the cave on the north side? I have talked to someone else who found 3 caves on the south side in the hills. So if I count your cave that would make 4 on that lake. Could you get more details for me? PG did you talk to your brother yet about the Alice caves you saw? You said they are on the west side right? I have have heard a rummer of one on the east side but not the west before. Any more info is much appreciated Also what island do you think the picto was on? Thanks

All the Winchell campsites are on the north side of the lake. This was the 4th campsite from the west -- the one on the west side of the bay leading towards Omega Lake. Big rock outcrop behind the campsite and the cave entrance was at the base of that rock.
Be careful though... I'm pretty sure that cave is probably where the skunk lives!
