My friend Mean-Jeanne coined that phrase...she said it first came to her when we told her it was five portages from North Bay of Basswood to mid-Agnes Lake and she had distinctly counted nine by day's end. Two afternoons later she said it again came to her while she and her husband were swimming the swamped Kevlar to shore to empty it after a fatefull windy day-trip excursion among the bays. Jeanne is the rock-people statue artist also.

IC Have you thought of inviting your "Rock Statue Artist" friend to this board? She might enjoy it as much as you do and we may enjoy hearing her input too, along with her hubby. Just a thought. k

Yes, it has crossed my mind. I didn't know if I should be the one to invite people on board. Jeanne would be a fun and interesting addition, she is an artist, teaches at Montessori type schools occasionally, from Iowa and is 65. She still rides at least one border to border bike ride a year. On her 60th and 61st birthday years she spent the winter bicycling West to East across the lower part of the entire US, he husband Dave following her, and sometimes friends, with the motor home base camp. When I heard she did this for fun, I knew she could be a Queti-goer for sure. We have gone camping together now for 6 years, at least once per summer. He claim to fame, aside from rock people, is that she picks up every scrud of garbage on any site we stay on, brings it home and makes collages of the materials. She sold two of these a couple years ago at an art fair for $275.00, so paid for her camping another year. IC

IC I can’t think of a single reason why you wouldn’t be the one to invite other members to this board if you think they would find it enjoyable or be interested in contributing in a positive manner, nor if any-one would want to invite others for that matter. After all, what is the QP with out its members? The QP is you, me, and everyone involved. Invite away. I find your rock statue friend intriguing. I’m sure others would too. k
