Okay, I know almost nothing about this subject, but I'm going to take a stab. My theory is that because of the early snow providing insulation, the ice is a little thinner than many years, despite the cold weather this winter. So I'm guessing that once it warms up the ice will melt a little earlier than usual. Problem is I don't really know what "usual" is. Anyway, I'm saying April 21 at 2:15 pm.

My guess...May 1st @ 2:30pm. PS: we're still driving our vehicles across the ice, and no sight of a decent thaw yet!
