Hey, Fishguts, welcome to the board. We entered at McAree Lake last year, did a 10-day loop going back out by Lac la Croix. Look at the first two days of my trip report posted in Trip Journals section. More episodes of the report will follow over time. You going to do a tow across Lac la Croix to get to the entry?

Thanks Ho Ho! Nice pictures, the mobs at Curtain Falls sound ..Ugh! Crowded! Yes, we want to get a tow to #43..We are still waiting till next month to get our Entry Permit, So I'm not making final plans on our route till that's done.Where did you go on the rest of that trip? Thanks qp......if we get #43-McAree, we hope to go throught Darky to William, Connmee, and I'm not sure from there..but out at PP, I guess. Got any suggestions? Fishguts

Conmee is a great lake. The far east portage from there into Suzanette is a nice portage. Suzanette is a nice lake too. There's rumor of a message cache there as well. Be sure to look at the post call the Wall Portage I think it is. Theres a map I posted there which shows an easier portage from McIntyre to Sarah. Argo Lake is a beauty too if it work for you to pay it a visit. Be sure to paddle out from Isabella Lake thru the Isabella Creek it's a great place to see wildlife if you catch it early in the am or late evening. Lost bay has a great campsite as does the south island on Burke Lake. qp

Thanks qp, If things are too crowded in the Connme area, would Suzanette be a less crowded area? Any other suggestions? Fishguts

I doubt if you will find Suzanette crowded. Once you are 3 days away from an entry, there are very few others that far into the woods. Some popular spots are crowded, along the main routes and near the entry points, Rebecca and Curtain Falls, and places like that. McIntyre has good fishing and nice campsites at the southwest end; Sarah is a very nice lake with several excellent sites; Robinson is also a very nice area. From there you could go out at North Bay and Burke or if you came South from Robinson and used the Basswood River you can exit on the Pipestone Bay route. In general, if you are camping on the Canada side, even in the busier areas, there seems always to be a campsite available. IC
