IC K and WW are carring all the gear. qp QP.... Question for you. Is your middle name Gus? Next thing we know you'll be slipping rocks in our packs on the way back to civilization. Somehow I get the feeling we will be reading "The Ode to the Wizard of Oddity" soon? huh DD? Perhaps Jimbo and Stumpy can help you write it. Good to see you Jimbo & DD In a small way (providing something doesn't come up that prevents attendance to the BWJ) it will be sad to let go of the mystery of "Who exactly is Stumpy?" We have heard tales of how he has been on the Opra TV show and I have heard tales of falling through screens of tents from one to many (Whoops, that slipped). I remember returning to Kawishiwi Lodge last summer and Kathy said to me.."You wouldn't believe who stopped in today....Stumpy." Here's to ya Stumpy for living up to your name. k

I can't even begin to tell you how much I miss seeing your writes frequently, Jimbo. It is good to see that you cross over from time to time to join us in our river. Has the Mississippi and Missouri joined? Who knows? It would be really great to see more of DD's poetry. Perhaps… someday.
Hey Stumpy! Sat on a Wall!
Now there's a concept.

K, Try this on for size: The Road goes ever on & on Down from the door Where it began Now far ahead The Road has gone And I must follow If I can Pursuing it With eager feet Until it joins Some larger way Where many paths And errands meet And, whither then? I cannot say.... ************************* Borrowed in its entirety from a small furry-toed creature that eats often & enjoys subterranean home life (almost - you might say - a gnome-life). Anyhow, the ditty works. I suspect many paths & errands may cross on the ides of June at Stumpy Lake. Personally, I will be searching for a lost flock of pink flamingos... but that is yet another story. Jimbo

Hey K, Get your good stuff ready! I'm told that Stumpy will be sponsoring some after-dinner campfire "Paddling Poetry" readings. Furthermore, he seems interested in something new & creative... "Voyageur Rap". I'm hoping for a worthy effort out of you! It's the least we can do for our benefactor... Stumpy. Jimbo ps. The VERY least....
