Grandfather and his friends used them as trail markers. Once asked him if there was any religious significance to them. He said, "Sometimes, not often - depends on what they are directing you to."
Seen more of them in recent years, Asked Joe Soulier, Shinob cousin, why? He said, "New tribe has moved in. I asked, "What tribe?" He said, "Yuppies."

QP, Indeed... I was the first to see both of these since I gathered the rocks myself and built them, eh? Well, the cleft boulder which forms the base for the first one was already there, but I carried the rest of the rocks in to that site. The second one was easier--rocks were closer and I made it smaller. You ask if anyone has seen one of these... I have seen five others in addition to these two, and know of one other I've not yet seen. And each has the same sort of thing inside, eh? Several are well into the woods in special places and several command incredible views of beautiful lakes, and each holds unique value... Happy paddles, Sauvage
